How to find out your ring size
Measure a ring you have at home
If you have a ring that fits the same finger you want to wear the new ring on, you can use that as a reference. Measure the inside diameter of the ring (do not include the metal). Compare the measurement to the sizes in the table below.
You can also visit a store to find out the ring size.
Keep in mind that the ring you measure should have approximately the same thickness and width as the new ring you are interested in. The model of the ring has an impact on which size you should choose.
Buy a ring sizer
A reliable way to find out your ring size is to order a ring sizer .
Place the measuring tape over the finger you want to wear your new ring on. Tighten the band and read the size in the small magnifying glass. Remember that the band should fit like a ring that fits well. The band should be able to be put on and taken off with resistance over the knuckle.
Order several sizes and try them on.
When you order a silver ring from Mila Silver, you can order a few different sizes to try on. Return the ring(s) that don't fit with the prepaid return shipping label and keep the one that does. We offer a free size exchange.
Measure the circumference of your finger
Measure the circumference of your finger using a tape measure or a piece of string. The measurement you get is the circumference of your finger in mm and can be compared to the size chart below.
Order sample rings before ordering a diamond ring
If you are going to buy a diamond ring or wedding/engagement ring that is made to order, you can order plain silver rings to try out the right size before the diamond ring is made.
In the product description for each ring, we give tips on which sample rings you should choose.
Order a couple of different sizes and try them on. Return them with the prepaid return shipping label and then order the diamond ring and any engraving.

Other things to consider when choosing a ring size:
Which finger
There is usually a size difference between, for example, the ring finger and the middle finger. Many people can wear the same size on their middle finger and index finger.
However, the difference is highly individual and the safest thing to do is to measure an existing ring that fits the intended finger. You can also measure the circumference of your finger, see more info below.
Right or left hand
Usually you can wear the same size on your left and right hand. However, sometimes there is a difference of half to a full size between the different hands.
If you are right-handed, the fingers of your right hand are a little stronger than your left and vice versa.
Compare it to a ring you have at home, how it fits on your left and right hands.
Wide or narrow ring
How the ring feels on your finger is also determined by the width of the ring and the thickness of the silver. Wearing multiple silver rings in a combination also affects the feel.
If the ring is narrow , you can wear your usual size.
Wide silver rings like our Plain ring (10 mm) require you to go up a size. We will inform you about this in the item description.
Loose or tight? That's what we think
How a ring should feel on your finger is a matter of taste.
Some people like the rings to be loose and free, while others prefer a tighter feel.
Our general advice regarding fit is that the ring should slip on and off your finger with a little resistance over the joint. Once in place, the ring should be a little loose but you shouldn't lose the ring when you shake hands.
It is important that air gets under the ring so that the skin does not become damp.
Also keep in mind that your hands sometimes swell, so it's a good idea to try on the ring you've ordered a few times during the day, both morning and evening, to make sure the ring is the right size.
